The Union for the Development of the Moravian−Silesian Region is a voluntary non−profit organization which participates in the creation of conditions required for economic prosperity and the overall development of the region in the long term. The main reason for its establishment in the early 1990's was to contribute to the management of extensive industrial transformation, to determine the main goals and support solution to fundamental development projects and concepts. Furthermore, its goal was to coordinate specified regional activities such as finalizing agreements in cooperation with the Regional Authority and Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Moravian−Silesian Region.

The main mission of the Union

Promotion of the legitimate interests of its members, especially those common interests which conform to the strategy of regional development.

Participation in the preparation, updating and implementation of regional development strategies in accordance with the European Union, particularly in areas such as economic development, the environment, infrastructural development, education and human resources.
